Committed to net zero,
and to building responsibly
We started Haijahr to help businesses do good, and that has not changed. As a signatory of the SME Climate Commitment, we have put a timeline and a target behind that belief.
Committed business since 2025
A pledge with a deadline
Haijahr is a signatory of the SME Climate Commitment, recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign. It is a public, time-bound pledge, not a vague aspiration.
-
50%
Halve our emissions by 2030
Cutting our greenhouse gas emissions in half before the end of the decade.
-
Reach net zero before 2050
Aligned with the global effort to keep warming within 1.5C.
-
Report our progress every year
Holding ourselves publicly accountable to the targets we have set.
Measured, and made public
Reporting our progress every year is part of the commitment. These are our climate documents in full — the same numbers we hold ourselves to, published so anyone can read them. They complement our SME Climate Hub disclosure.
Climate Report 2025
Our first carbon baseline. A complete, honest account of our footprint for the year to 31 December 2025 — around 0.540 tonnes CO₂e, measured in full across every scope.
Net Zero Plan 2026
Forward-looking, as the team grows from two to five. Our forecast footprint of around 1.612 tonnes CO₂e, the verified offsetting we have begun, our 2030 and 2050 targets, and the actions already underway.
We report gross emissions and offsets separately, and publish only what we can evidence.
Cutting our emissions in half, today
Halving our emissions by 2030 is the target, but we did not want to wait until then to start. Through our membership with Plant Protect, we fund tree planting and rainforest conservation that offsets around half of Haijahr's carbon footprint right now.
These are real, verified numbers, not estimates or averages. Every year our membership protects rainforest, plants trees, and supports the families who tend them.

Responsibility built into how we build
The lowest-carbon software is software that works, lasts, and does not have to be rebuilt. That is how we have always engineered, and it happens to be good for the planet too.
Lean, efficient code
We build software that does more with less, reducing the compute, energy, and infrastructure our products need to run.
Built to last
Maintainable systems over throwaway builds. Software that endures means less waste and fewer costly rebuilds down the line.
A light footprint
We operate as a remote-friendly team and keep our own operations deliberately small, cutting commuting and office emissions.
Inclusive by design, not by obligation
We no longer offer CSR as a service, but the principles never left us. They shape how we run our own business, starting with who we hire and how we look after them.
We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We are an equal opportunities employer, which to us means we do not screen someone out for having a long-term health condition or a disability. If a person can do the job, we make the job work for them.
Where a member of our team needs adjustments to work comfortably, we fund them in full, and we shape working hours around their health, not the other way around. It costs a small business very little, and it changes everything for the person it helps.
Inclusive recruitment
We hire for ability and potential. A disability or a chronic illness is never a reason to screen someone out. Everyone deserves the chance to contribute.
Flexible working
Hours and workload built around real lives and real health needs. For us, flexibility is the default, not a favour to be earned.
Workplace health & wellbeing
We cover the full cost of the equipment, software, and adjustments our people need to work comfortably and sustainably over the long term.
Technology should serve people
We believe technology and growth should serve people, communities, and long-term impact, not just short-term returns. Responsibility shapes how we operate, how we treat our clients, and how we build software.
Human first. Always.
Build with a team that builds responsibly
If you care how your software is built, and by whom, we should talk. Senior engineers, lasting software, and a business with a conscience.
